Our corporate members support us in our work to promote and protect the unique qualities of Exmoor, and some offer discounts to Exmoor Society members.   Many of them operate within Exmoor National Park and contribute in helping the area thrive both economically and socially.  Please support them in turn, if you are able, and remember to mention the Exmoor Society when you do!

Anstey Mills Cottages

Beautiful 17th-Century holiday cottage in the picturesque village of Winsford. Sleeps four adults and two children.

Beckford’s Art Works
Hand-carved and individually designed Memorials and Headstones, made in Dulverton. Following on the traditional skills handed down from each generation of carver. Laurence’s Memorials and Headstones harmonise with the surroundings of Exmoor and each are unique to the customer.

Calvert Exmoor
A charity that enables people of all ages with physical, learning, sensory and behavioural disabilities to achieve their potential through adventurous activities with their families, friends and carers. Welcoming almost 4,000 visitors each year. The charity also supports local primary and special needs schools. make it easy to find and book great camping, glamping and touring breaks. The website lists 40+ sites in and around Exmoor, with something for everyone.

Exmoor Character Cottages
Four luxury period holiday cottages – The Oval in Dunster, Pilgrim Corner, The Old Sweet Shop and Stone Barn in Minehead. Each has its own unique character and original features and three have hot tubs! Sleeping from six to eight, they are comfortable and welcoming – a real home-from-home in the heart of Exmoor. Exmoor Magazine
Exmoor Magazine (est. 1997) is for all who love Exmoor and the Quantocks.  Each issue of this independent, quarterly magazine boasts around 200 images by local photographers and a wide range of in-depth features.  The publication is sold in local shops, Co-ops, Waitrose and M&S, as well as by subscription.

Exmoor Natural History Society
The Society, founded by Noel Allen in 1974, is a Reg. Charity No. 1108445.  Membership is £7 p.a. and members receive the Society’s magazine, The Exmoor Naturalist, twice yearly.  This includes Summer and Winter programmes of walks and talks for members, and opportunities to assist with recording and conserving Exmoor’s wonderful wildlife.

Exmoor Rambler

Exmoor Trees
Exmoor Trees has been growing trees at one of the highest tree nurseries in the UK for 15 years, in exposed and windy conditions, producing trees that are fully ready to be planted out.  Our trees are grown in peat-free compost,  are generally two years old when they leave the nursery.  Advice and courses also offered.

Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway
The famous Lynton and Lynmouth Victorian Cliff Railway opened in 1890 and is the highest and the steepest totally water-powered railway in the
world! This historic attraction is one of just three water-powered funiculars in the world and was recently voted the UK’s best Cliff Railway and was
silver winner of Devon’s Large Attraction of the Year 2020. The Cliff Railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth providing stunning coastal views and a Cliff Top Café.

Founded in 1849, it actively promotes the study of Local History, Archaeology, Natural History and Historic Buildings. SANHS runs a Programme of Events which includes talks, walks, lectures, and webinars.
