Our corporate members support us in our work to promote and protect the unique qualities of Exmoor, and some offer discounts to Exmoor Society members.   Many of them operate within Exmoor National Park and contribute in helping the area thrive both economically and socially.  Please support them in turn, if you are able.

Ball Cottage, Winsford
Ball Cottage, holiday accommodation for up to 5 persons, plus a baby.  It is situated on the edge of the beautiful village of Winsford, within the Exmoor National Park and has all the character you would expect from a 17th Century cottage.

Brendon Hill Crafts
Small family-run business producing a wide variety of jams, marmalades, chutneys, jellies, sauces, vinegars, many of which have won awards.

Calvert Trust
A charity providing residential outdoor activities to people of all ages and with every type of disability along with their friends, family and/or carers. The charity also supports local primary schools and many special needs schools. Nearly 4,000 visitors stay at the Centre each year. make it easy to find and book great camping, glamping and touring breaks. The website lists 40+ sites in and around Exmoor, with something for everyone.

Exmoor Character Cottages
Four period holiday cottages – The Oval in Dunster, Pilgrim Corner, The Old Sweet Shop and Stone Barn in Minehead.  Each has their own unique character and original features.  Sleeping from five to eight, they are comfy and welcoming – a real home-from-home in the heart of Exmoor.  Dogs welcome.  (Members: 10% discount on website bookings – phone Society office for code)

Exmoor Country House
An elegant Georgian-style guesthouse set in its own grounds and located in the enchanting village of Porlock, where Exmoor meets the sea.  Evening dinner is available every day except Sunday.  We have a great range of spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks.  Children over 10 are welcome; sorry no pets.  (ES members: 10% discount on accommodation)

Exmoor Horn Sheep Breeders’ Society
A Society formed for the encouragement of the Breeding and Maintenance of the characteristics of the Exmoor Horn Sheep at home and abroad, and the maintenance of the breed.

Exmoor Magazine
Exmoor Magazine (est. 1997) is for all who love Exmoor and the Quantocks.  Each issue of this independent, quarterly magazine boasts around 200 images by local photographers and a wide range of in-depth features.  The publication is sold in local shops, Co-ops, Waitrose and M&S, as well as by subscription.

Exmoor Natural History Society
The Society, founded by Noel Allen in 1974, is a Reg. Charity No. 1108445.  Membership is £7 p.a. and members receive the Society’s magazine, The Exmoor Naturalist , twice yearly.  This includes Summer and Winter programmes of walks and talks for members, and opportunities to assist with recording and conserving Exmoor’s wonderful wildlife.

Exmoor Trees
Exmoor Trees has been growing trees at one of the highest tree nurseries in the UK for 15 years, in exposed and windy conditions, producing trees that are fully ready to be planted out.  Our trees are grown in peat-free compost,  are generally two years old when they leave the nursery.  Advice and courses also offered.

Ramblers’ Association
Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. The West Somerset group offers walks on Wednesday and Saturday.  You are welcome to try walking with us; please see website for details.

Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society
Founded in 1849, it actively promotes the study of Local History, Archaeology, Natural History and Historic Buildings. Apart from the Society’s Proceedings, the Publications Committee produces a number of publications.  SANHS runs a popular Programme of Events which includes talks, walks, lectures and workshops on a range of relevant topics.
