Guided Walk: The Lost Village of Clicket 2
150 years ago five families lived in a remote Somerset valley then, in the space of two years, they vanished. This beautiful stream-side walk takes us through woods on the hollow way from Baker’s Farm to Clicket, over the packhorse bridge and up to the ruin of the original Thorn Farm house. Having thoroughly explored the area, the ruins of the village and the beautiful beech woods that surrounds it, we will retrace our steps.
Excitingly we will be joined by Marion Jeffrey who has researched and written an article on Clicket for Timberscombe History Society.
There are deep holes so dogs will need to be kept on leads at points and there is some rough walking as a couple of trees are down on the path.
The owner of Baker’s Farm has very kindly agreed that cars can be parked in his yard.
3mls/2.hrs. Dogs welcome
