Join us for an evening exploring the status of the moorland birds of Exmoor!
We’re thrilled to welcome Juan Castello from the Exmoor National Park Authority (ENPA) to lead this captivating talk on the results of the recent Exmoor Moorland Bird Survey. In 2024, ENPA partnered with the RSPB, thanks to funding from the Exmoor Society and others, to commission a comprehensive survey of Exmoor’s moorland breeding bird population. This effort has unveiled fascinating insights into the state of moorland species such as the whinchat, cuckoo, grasshopper warbler, tree pipit, and Dartford warbler. The data from this survey will be crucial in shaping the future of Exmoor’s landscapes. It will guide agri-environment grant applications and drive major projects like the Landscape Recovery Schemes on Exmoor. Additionally, it enables the creation of tailored moorland bird plans designed to help key species thrive on Exmoor.
An evening not to be missed!
