Upcoming Exmoor Walk:

An Exploration of Driver and the Chains

Key Information:
Driver is an 800 acre hill farm up on the slopes of the high spine of west Exmoor, called the Chains. This is an iconic part of Exmoor, within the old royal forest, at the heart of the Dark Skies reserve, and with incredible views. This walk will begin with a tour of the farmstead – one of the best preserved of Frederic Knight’s farms, built in the 1840s. We will then explore the farmland, from its valley meadows to its high peatland and the top of the Chains, taking in the beautiful scenery, wildlife and its unique heritage. This is an opportunity to discuss Exmoor National Park Authority’s emerging plans for Driver’s future. The itinerary may be amended depending on the weather. • Children welcome • Please bring a packed lunch and drink to be eaten en-route
