Key Information:
Lammas is the ‘feast of the first fruits’, probably when the first bread was baked with this year’s wheat harvest. Lammas has been celebrated in Stoke Pero for very many years. The walk will follow Horner Water and then climb through Stoke Wood to Stoke Pero. There should then be time for a picnic in the church graveyard before the service. The return walk will follow Cloutsham Ridge before dropping steeply to East Water, and, thus, to Horner Water once more. This walk is part of the Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail.
