Upcoming Exmoor Event:

Big Nature Day: Seeing with the Heart – poetry and creative writing about the natural world.

Event Information:

We are delighted that experienced poet, Graeme Ryan, will be running this poetry workshop as part of our Big Nature Day celebrations. This friendly, inclusive workshop is suitable for both those new to creative writing and more experienced writers. In the beautiful setting of Nettlecombe, we will explore many ways to capture in words our connections to the natural world.

Led by experienced teacher and poet Graeme Ryan, the morning will guide us through all sorts of exercises and stimuli to awaken curiosity and give inspiration and structure to our writing. We will often work collaboratively to harness the creativity of the group, and there will also be plenty of one-to-one assistance.

Each act of focus on the natural world can be a re-establishing of a relationship with who we are on this earth, our only home. It is also a lot of fun!

We have 14 spaces available for this workshop. It will start at 10.30 am and will be located in the Dining Room, on site at The Big Nature Day. Spaces for this workshop cost £15, which includes free entry to the event and free parking.

Age limit of 18 years and over. Please bring writing materials with you to the event. Book your place using the form below.

“Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”
― Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass
