The Exmoor Scavenge
Head into the great outdoors and discover what is hiding beneath your feet, above your head or in front of your nose, all year round!
We can often forget to slow down and pay attention to what’s around us, to explore our curiosity or to learn more about the living things that we share our lives with. The Exmoor Scavenge is a way of taking time out to enjoy the natural world.
Based on Exmoor’s wonderful and varied landscapes the Exmoor Society are building a series of resources that will allow you to explore the national park on your own or with family or friends to find out more about the mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, insects, plants and fungi that live here.

Moorland Scavenge
Visit Selworthy Beacon or head to the highest point on Exmoor – Dunkery Beacon. Discover the mystery of the most remote moor at Larkbarrow which is one of the best places to see stars.

Woodland Scavenge

Coastal Scavenge
Exmoor offers a great selection of beaches to explore. From Lee Abbey to Porlock Beach, all of them offer a wonderful opportunity to have fun and spot some unique coastal wildlife.
