We are delighted to welcome Holly Purdey to the Big Nature Day, who has a fascinating talk lined up below:
Farming on Exmoor at Horner Farm, we live with the reality of trying to produce food while working alongside nature every day. Across landscapes like Exmoor, rewilding is often framed as a threat to food security. Should we choose between feeding people or restoring nature?
Drawing on our journey of a mixed livestock and horticultural farm which is adapting to become more nature-friendly, this talk explores whether rewilding is truly in conflict with food production. Instead of holding nature at the edges, what might happen if we allowed it to lead how we farm and produce food?
Based on practical experience, this is an honest look at the tensions, trade-offs, and opportunities shaping the future of farming on Exmoor.
