RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch

According to the RSPB, we have lost 38 million birds from UK skies in the last 50 years which underlies that nature is in crisis.

To help monitor how UK birds are faring in the face of this nature and climate emergency, the RSPB have launched the Great British Bird Watch, a citizen project to help gather data from across the UK. Simply count the birds that you see from your garden, balcony or local park between 27th – 29th January for an hour, then go online and report your findings. Progress for our campaign to regulate pet parasiticides

Last month, The Exmoor Society was the only national park society to submit evidence to the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee's inquiry into pet parasite treatments. We were therefore delighted to see that the inquiry's final report urges the government to ban the general sale of these treatments and restrict availability to vets, pharmacist's and qualified professionals.
