New Exhibition – A Life Outside: Hope Bourne on Exmoor

We are delighted to present a new exhibition which celebrates the life and works of nature writer and artist, Hope Bourne.

Hope Bourne was one of the twentieth century’s most extraordinary nature writers. Forgotten for many years, Bourne’s life and work is now being rediscovered by a new generation of readers, who are increasingly enthralled by her writing and ideas.

The exhibition is free to enter and will run from Monday 2nd November until Sunday 15th November.

Open from 10am – 3pm, the exhibition marks the publication of a new biography “A Life Outside: Hope Bourne on Exmoor”.

Beautifully written by Sara Hudston with a forward by Charles Foster, this book draws on detailed original research from The Exmoor Society’s archive and interviews with people who knew her well.

This exhibition is supported by the South West Heritage Trust through the Arts Council England funded programme ‘Cultural Communities: The Stories That Make Us.
