Pinnacle Award Winner 2023

Congratulations to Serena Colwill, winner of this year's Pinnacle Award, with her project Farm School. This wonderful initiative invites local Exmoor school pupils to her farm in Exford to experience, understand and learn about farming and the environment.

From hedge laying and shearing to observing wildlife, Farm School aims to teach children how to conserve and protect the Exmoor landscape. For now the project is working with local school children, but the hope is that it will expand to include schools from further afield as well as others including home-schooling groups, sports clubs and potentially toddlers.
Serena impressed the judges with her drive and flair so we are delighted that this award will contribute towards the future and success of this inspiring new project.

We want to thank everyone who applied for the Pinnacle Award. The range of businesses put forward were impressive and show what a bright future young people on Exmoor are creating for themselves.

2025 was a very successful year for the archive, with exhibition collaborations, important donations and archive walks. We now look forward to building on these achievements in 2026 and so here are some of our plans and aspirations for the coming year.
We’re delighted to announce the return of The Exmoor Society Big Nature Day, a joyful celebration of everything that makes Exmoor so special.
A new monthly feature for 2026, we'll be shining a spotlight on one of our wonderful volunteers, staff members, or trustees who help protect and promote Exmoor National Park. First up this month is our office manager, Gill Whitehead.
