Take action to protect and conserve the Exmoor National Park:

Mary & Brian Chugg Conservation Award

Hurlstone Point from the water by Jonathan Simms

Every year the Exmoor Society presents the Mary & Brian Chugg Conservation Award to someone who has significantly contributed to the protection and conservation of Exmoor. Last year the award was presented to Fred Leech, who has for many years monitored river flies and other populations of insects which indicate the health of Exmoor’s rivers and consequent fish-stocks. Moreover, he has done this by mobilising teams of community members to engage in this valued “citizen science”.

If you would like to nominate someone for the 2024 award, please get in touch with us at info@exmoorsociety.com detailing the name of the person and the work they do to protect and conserve Exmoor.
