Winners announced for our 2023 Alfred Vowles Photographic Competition

This year’s Alfred Vowles photographic competition, as always, produced an incredible variety and standard of photographs to choose from.  We are so grateful to all those that took part and for taking the time to enter as these pictures create a beautiful and important record of Exmoor.

Our winning entries were this year selected by Exmoor photographer Eleanor Davis who said the following:

“This was such a hard decision, with so many beautiful photos of Exmoor. Seeing it from so many different perspectives is really something special! I wish I could have picked them all as winners.”

Results are as follows:
1st place goes to Ralph Ellis with ‘Wimbleball Lake at Sunset’
2nd place goes to Paul Marcus with ‘Robbers Bridge’
3rd place goes to Jochen Langbein with ‘Stags under a Mackeral Sky’
Runners up were Debbie Stanyon with ‘Colours of an Exmoor Autumn, Jochen Langbein with ‘Exmoor Pony above Porlock Bay’ and Nigel Childs with  ‘Heads Up. Near Simonsbath’
