Our Impact

The Exmoor Society has had some extraordinary successes since it was founded in 1958

It has worked to conserve the National Park and produced some of the seminal research and publications that form the evidence base for the continuing protection of Exmoor. We also work to develop livelihoods in the Park, helping to keep it vibrant and alive. To this end in 2012, we established the prestigious Pinnacle Award for young entrepreneurs with a new business idea and rewarding innovative ways of working in the National Park.

Our aim is to care for the scenic beauty, rich wildlife and historic heritage of Exmoor. Ensure Exmoor’s landscapes are passed on to future generations in as good or better condition than they are now;
Encourage people to appreciate our National Park – everyone has a right to enjoy Exmoor’s magnificent landscapes

Explore. Protect. Understand.

The Exmoor Society's walks, talks and events will bring you closer to Exmoor and what makes it so special.

Explore our fantastic programme of walks and family adventures with expert guides, who will help you enjoy Exmoor's landscapes, history and wildlife throughout the year.
