New acquisition for the archive: Copper Plate

An exciting day in the archive.

We were visited by Keith Howells, a former printer who wanted to view the set of West Somerset Free Press papers from 1865 which we are holding in the climate controlled archive store. He brought with him a beautiful engraved copper plate used to print the 1973 cover of the Exmoor Review, our annual publication.

Its a stunning artefact and if you look closely you can see the line of red deer from the original photograph etched into the copper. We are delighted to add it to our collection.
