Huge congratulations to runner Alfie McIntosh, who donned his Exmoor Society T-shirt and completed the 50-mile ultra route from Exmouth to Dulverton, finishing an impressive 4th overall!

This annual community event follows the same route taken by migrating salmon as they journey upstream from the sea to their spawning grounds. More than just a race, the Salmon Run is a celebration of this remarkable and endangered species, highlighting its vital ecological role and deep cultural connection to our rivers.

Well done, Alfie, on an incredible achievement, and huge thanks to the Westcountry Rivers Trust and Wild Running for organising this fantastic event.

Progress for our campaign to regulate pet parasiticides

Last month, The Exmoor Society was the only national park society to submit evidence to the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee's inquiry into pet parasite treatments. We were therefore delighted to see that the inquiry's final report urges the government to ban the general sale of these treatments and restrict availability to vets, pharmacist's and qualified professionals.
