The Exmoor Society Archive is run by a small team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, and in the last 6 months, we have welcomed 3 additional people to our group, bringing our numbers up to 8.
Some of us were given training by the Archivist who set up our archive at 34 High Street, Dulverton, and we are now passing these skills to our newest volunteers, each of whom has been working on an section of the archive, according to their interests and knowledge.
The work being undertaken includes cataloguing items from our Victor Bonham-Carter, RD Blackmore, and Hazel Eardley-Wilmot collections, creating digital copies and indexes of the Exmoor Review and Spring Newsletters, scanning the photographic collection of Brian Pearce, and updating records of our library and map collections.
Volunteers are also working on preparations for exhibitions and events throughout 2025. Look out for the spring newsletter which will contain an appeal for volunteers to help with a new project in the summer.
